About Our Location
ART WORKS is located in Johnstown, PA, yet more specifically in the historic and cultural corridor otherwise known as Cambria City. This section of Johnstown is already a tourist attraction due to organizations such as BOTTLE WORKS Ethnic Art Center, The Johnstown Inclined Plane, The Johnstown Flood Museum, and The Johnstown Heritage Discovery Center and Children’s Museum.
History of the Building
The ART WORKS was once a stable used to house horses and carriages, next it became a Pepsi-Cola plant and then a storage warehouse for Hornick’s Sporting Goods. Eventually Hornick’s decided to sell the building and approached BOTTLE WORKS, because Hornick's knew BOTTLE WORKS had an interest. Finally in 2006, a generous contribution from Don and Nancy Zucco purchased what is now ART WORKS. Since 2006, ART WORKS has been progressively being renovated and it will soon be completely up and running in the Spring of 2010!
